RE: Biscuits on the Grill??

We've baked home made pizza in a similar fashion. We line a cardboard box with aluminum foil and turn it upside down over the pizza pan placed on the grill. Just make sure you run the foil up and over the sides of the box. Otherwise you will catch the box on fire. We get unusual looks from passers by wondering where we got the pizza!

RE: Truck hits RV on side of road

Here is a link with much more information including a video report. The entire left side of the rig was sheared off. It's a miracle no one was seriously injured. Link

RE: Store soda cans in hot TT?

Here in KC, the convenience stores have pallets of soda sitting outside all summer long. We routinely are near 100 and well above that on sidewalks. However you won't find any DIET soda outside. I've heard or read somewhere that it has to do with the artificial sweeteners causing the cans to explode. Don't know if that is true or not but the definitely don't store diet soda outside.

RE: What's your favorite towel drying rack for outside?

A piece of rope tied between the trees. I've done it this way for years until we camped in a SP that prohibited tying anything to trees. In that instance we ran a piece of rope between the lantern post and the awning. I never really thought much about it but this method doesn't really promote the principles of Leave No Trace camping.

RE: KOA Cancellation Policy

Most if not all campgrounds have cancellation policies that are noted on their respective websites. IF not sure, ask them. Make sure u read everything BEFORE making any type of reservation regardless of campground, hotel or car rental. Ditto. We just had to cancel our summer vacation due to unforeseen circumstances. Had reservations at 4 separate NP campgrounds and each one had a $10 cancellation fee. Cost us 40 bucks but at least we didn't have to pay a one (or two) night stay at each place. MO State Parks assess a late fee as well. We've had to cancel many times but that's a small price to pay in exchange for the peace of mind knowing we can pull into the CG late at night and have our spot waiting for us.

RE: Whats in a name??

I earned my Eagle Scout rank in 1979. My 2 DS are working on their Eagle projects and will finish their Eagle Scout requirements by the end of the year. I'm also Scoutmaster for their troop.

RE: MAY 2 BLIZZARD

What's worse...a blizzard or straight line winds (tornado?) that happened across metro KC last night? One story here. Ya gotta love spring in the midwest! Forecast has the possibility of frost Sunday morning!

RE: 4 WD versus AWD

AWD is ALL wheels ready to use ALL at the same time and is Always on AWD does not always mean ALL WHEEL DRIVE. On my TB, it means AUTO/4WD which means I'm in 2WD unless slippage is detected which would then engage the front wheels. From the Chevy website: The Autotrac active transfer case, standard on 4x4 models, helps TrailBlazer adjust to varying road conditions. The Autotrac system features four drive modes (2HI, AUTO/4WD, 4HI, and 4LO), plus a neutral setting. 2HI provides the most efficient driving mode. When engaged, AUTO/4WD detects rear-wheel slippage and automatically shifts into 4WD as road conditions dictate.4HI helps handle snow, ice, mud and most off-road conditions.4LO helps handle extreme conditions, such as steep hills, deep sand, mud or snow.Neutral allows TrailBlazer to be flat-towed. For recreational towing restrictions and availability, consult the Owner's Manual. So, I guess it varies by manufacturer.

RE: How much space.......?

I can't speak to the Fleetwood but on my Jayco, the top half of the door folds up and latches on the ceiling. There is also room for the A/C, lights, curtains and canvas. I can open the door and put my hand between the mattress and the folded up door. I would guess there is about 2" of room between the mattress and the ceiling. The tissue box is an excellent idea. Are you looking for additional storage?

RE: Forum loading very slow

RV.net has been slow and sometimes won't even load the page over the last several weeks as well. It's usually worse in the evening.

RE: Beeping car locks

My truck and car both beep only on the second press, which I never do in a campground. When I unlock the truck, the headlights come on, which aggravates me because they are usually pointed right at someone's trailer. I wish I could disable that feature. Ditto for me. The only option is to use the key to manually unlock the truck. Funny thing is the last time I did that (remote battery was dead) I set off the alarm!

RE: Another Stupid Excel Question . . . .

Check the cell formatting. Click on the affected cell then the Format menu, then Cells, then the Alignment tab. Make sure the Wrap Text box is unchecked. Also, the entire contents of a cell will be displayed if adjoining cells are empty.
